Dashboard Basics
The dashboard is the main control center for your career and your team activity.
At first glance, it can feel like there is a lot happening. That is normal. The easiest way to understand it is to stop thinking about it as one big page and instead think of it as several connected work areas.
Each area has a different job.
Once you understand what each area is for, the dashboard becomes much easier to use.
What Happens When You First Enter the Dashboard
Before the full dashboard is shown, the system checks whether your driver profile is complete.
If your profile is not complete, you will be taken to the onboarding form first.
That means the dashboard can behave in two different ways when you first log in:
- If your profile is complete, you will see the normal dashboard.
- If your profile is incomplete, you will be taken to the driver onboarding flow before the rest of the dashboard becomes useful.
So if the dashboard looks limited or incomplete when you first sign in, the first thing to check is whether your onboarding is fully completed.
The Main Dashboard Layout
The dashboard is broken into several key sections.
These are the areas you should understand first:

Each one controls a different part of the experience.
Top Navigation
The top navigation is used to switch between the main dashboard workspaces.
These are the major areas of the dashboard:
DriverOrganizationLeagueMailbox
Switching between these changes the main content below it.
This is one of the most important things to understand: the top navigation changes the entire working context of the dashboard.
On mobile, this top navigation is accessed through the hamburger menu rather than always being visible across the header.
Organization Selector
If you belong to more than one organization, you will see an organization selector in the top bar.
This selector changes which organization you are currently viewing.
That affects:
- cars
- contracts
- sponsorships
- finances
- staff
- organization information
If something seems missing in the Organization dashboard, the first thing to check is whether you are looking at the correct organization.
If you are not part of an organization, this selector will not appear.
Middle Navigation
Once you are inside a main dashboard area like Driver, Organization, or League, the middle navigation appears.
This is the row of tabs that changes the contents of the viewing pane.
For example:
- in the
Driverdashboard, it lets you move between things like races, finances, contracts, and driver info - in the
Organizationdashboard, it lets you move between things like cars, sponsorships, finances, staff, and organization info - in the
Leaguedashboard, it lets you move between league-level subtabs such asEntry Lists
The top navigation changes the major dashboard area.
The middle navigation changes the subsystem within that area.
Viewing Pane
The viewing pane is where the actual content appears.
This is where you will:
- review race results
- inspect contracts
- manage sponsorships
- handle mailbox messages
- view finances
- update organization information
Everything you do inside the dashboard eventually happens here.
The Driver Dashboard
The Driver dashboard is your personal side of the platform.
It is where you manage your driver identity and review your own career information.
Current driver sections include:

Driver Overview
This is your personal summary page.
It shows key items like:
- your display name
- your iRacing ID
- your current organization
- progression and XP
- major driver metrics
- membership summary
- mailbox activity
- career snapshot
This is the best place to start if you want a quick understanding of where your current career stands.
Driver Races
This page is where you review your completed race history.
It is useful for checking:
- recent results
- finishing positions
- incidents
- payouts tied to those results
Driver Finances
This is your personal financial view as a driver.
It is separate from organization finances and separate from car finances.
Driver Contracts
This is where you review and respond to driver-side contract activity.
If you are being offered a contract, countering one, or reviewing your active driver contract, this is one of the main places to go.
Driver Info
This is where your profile-level information is reviewed and maintained.
Ownership Application
This is where users apply to create their own organization.
If you want to become an owner or owner-driver, this page is the starting point.
The Organization Dashboard
The Organization dashboard is where team management happens.
This is where you stop thinking as only a driver and start thinking as a team owner or team operator.
Current organization sections include:

Organization Overview
This is the best place to get a high-level summary of the team.
It shows things like:
- team status
- location
- manufacturer
- member count
- organization progression
- finance overview
- summaries of cars and staff
Cars
This is where the team’s entries live.
This tab is used to:
- review current cars
- purchase new cars
- open race assignments for a specific car
Contracts
This is the organization-side contract workspace.
This is different from the driver-side contract page. Here, the team is the one offering and managing contracts.
Free Agency
This is the scouting and recruitment area for finding drivers.
Sponsorships
This is where the team manages:
- sponsor offers
- sponsor slot coverage
- sponsor relationships
- emergency sponsorship requests
Finances
This is where team finances are reviewed.
The system separates finances into:
- organization account
- car accounts
That means not every financial item is meant to appear in the same place.
Staff
This is where organization members and permissions are managed.
Organization Info
This is where the organization’s identity and owner-level settings are maintained.
This is also where major owner actions like ownership transfer and dissolution controls live.
The League Dashboard
The League dashboard is a league-level shared workspace.
It is meant for information that is useful across the league, not just inside one personal profile or one organization.
Current league sections include:
Entry Lists
Entry Lists
This view shows upcoming race entry lists for the leagues you can access.
Each race table is built from active chartered cars in that race's series.
The table includes:
CarDriverOrganizationManufacturerPrimary Sponsor
If a chartered car does not yet have a driver assignment or accepted primary sponsor for that race, the row still appears and those fields remain blank.
This makes League > Entry Lists useful for checking field readiness without hiding incomplete cars.
As more league-level tools are introduced, they will appear as additional subtabs under this same top-level League workspace.
Mailbox
The Mailbox is one of the most important pages in the entire dashboard.
It is not just a place to read messages. It is also where action-driven workflows often begin.
Use Mailbox for things like:
- contract messages
- counters and replies
- signatures
- ownership transfer responses
- internal member communication
If something feels like it disappeared from the workflow, check Mailbox before assuming it is gone.
One Important Detail About Finances
Finances is not a top-level shell tab on the main dashboard page.
Instead, finances are split into the relevant workspace:
- driver finances live in the Driver dashboard
- organization and car finances live in the Organization dashboard
This is one of the reasons the dashboard can feel more structured than a standard website menu. The system keeps money tied to the correct operating context.
Why Some Tools May Be Missing
If you do not see something you expected, the issue is usually one of the following:
1. Your profile is not complete
If onboarding is incomplete, the dashboard will not behave like the normal full workspace.
2. You are not in the right top-level area
You may be looking in Driver when the task belongs in Organization, or checking Organization when the action actually starts in Mailbox.
3. You are in the wrong organization
If you belong to multiple teams, the organization selector may be pointed at the wrong one.
4. You do not have permission
Not every member of an organization sees the same tools.
Different members may have different access to:
- finances
- contracts
- sponsorships
- car operations
- staff controls
5. The task belongs to a specific car
Some systems only make sense once a specific car is selected, such as race assignments or car-scoped sponsor management.
The Best Way to Think About the Dashboard
When you are not sure where to go, ask yourself three questions:
- Am I acting as a
Driver,Organization Member,League Viewer, orMailbox Recipient? - Is this about the whole team, or one specific car?
- Is this a personal item, a team item, or a pending action message?
Those three questions usually tell you exactly where to go next.
Recommended Way to Learn the Dashboard
If you are new, use this order:
- Read this page first.
- Review the Getting Started guide if you have not completed onboarding.
- Use Find Your Work in the Dashboard when you know the task but do not know the location.
- Then move into the feature-specific pages only when you need them.
That approach keeps the dashboard from feeling bigger than it really is.
Final Reminder
The dashboard is not one flat menu. It is a set of connected systems.
The more you understand the difference between:
- driver tools
- organization tools
- league-wide views
- mailbox actions
- team vs car scope
the easier the entire platform becomes to use.
